Coach Henry Wellington considers defeat to Elmina Sharks as adapting to new venue


Head of Accra Hearts of Oak technical team, Coach Henry Wellington have stood for the importance of pre-season friendly clash against Elmina Sharks ahead of the 2017/18 season.

The Rainbow’s on Sunday lost 1-0 to Elmina Sharks, courtesy of Benjamin Tweneboah lone strike in the dying embers of the game.

Coach Henry Wellington in his post match indicated that, the encounter was to help the players to accustom with their new venue for the upcoming campaign – Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

“It was a very good exercise. We chose to play this game at our new home to start adapting to the pitch”.

“We hope with time a lot of supporters will come and watch our matches in our subsequent games”.

He added that the game was to deploy tactics and know faults before the season commences – “this is a pre-season game and the intention is to find faults and correct them before the league starts”.
