Ernestina Abambila claimed it will take 100 percent focus to advance from the Group Phase of the 2018 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
The Black Princesses were drawn in Group A alongside; host France, New Zealand and Netherland in today’s draw held at Rennes Opera House, Rennes.
The central midfielder reckoned that all involved must put on the table 100 percent commitment to ensure Ghana qualify from the first round stage for the first time.
“Our group is very tough, and means we have to give all to ensure we progress from the group phase.
“Our chances look slim, based on our history of not making it out of the group phase – we have to encourage ourselves. There is always a first time, we have good players and can make it happen.
“The leaders must also do all what they have to do to support the target, our coaches, administrators must attend to the target early. Support us both spiritually and physically” – Ernestina Abambila told www.ocsportsnews.com.
The Black Princesses snatched one of the two slots on the continent by beating Cameroon’s Les Indomitable Lioness 4:1 on aggregate.
The team led by Coach Yusif Basigi extended Ghana’s participation in the tournament to a fifth consecutive occasion.
Ghana will play France, Netherland and New Zealand on the August 4, 8 and 12 respectively.
