University of Education, Winneba became the third school to qualify to the University, Polytechnics and Colleges Basketball Championship by winning the Zone 3 contest yesterday, March 10.
University of Education joined Takoradi Technical University and All Nations University College as qualified schools to the 2018 UPAC Basketball Championship after an enthralling two halves of one sided contest against University of Cape Coast at yesterday’s final.
UCC who snatched 2017’s combined Central and Western Region slot to the national games lost out this time to the resolute UEW.
UEW floored KAAF University College, Cape Coast Technical University end route to the final against University of Cape Coast in front of their campus crowd.
It was all play all contest as the four tertiary schools battled it out. UEW won all three games and UCC won two losing to UEW at the final.
Qualified schools after three regional contest are TTU, ANUC and UEW. More slots to battle for to settle on the school for the national showdown in April.
